TOP TIPS FOR SENIOR PHOTOS WITHOUT THE HEADACHES

Schedule a Consultation with Your Photographer

Before you spend a single dollar, meet your photographer.  The Photographer / Photography Studio will develop a clear picture of your style and requests.  If you are uncertain on what you want, the photographer can help you with some creative design elements.  Also, this is the time to learn more about the photographer and he/her to learn more about you.  You are going to put some trust in them, and spend time with them.  You will want to ensure you can hang out with them; they are not just some crazy people.

Select a Primary and Secondary Photoshoot Date

The continued trend for Senior Photos is to shoot on-location; in the City, the Park, or the Woods.  Since the weather is always the wild card, it is best to have your photographer lock in a primary photoshoot date and a backup shoot date.  This will yield a much easier schedule change if the photoshoot gets washed out.

Location and Backup Location

So your destination for you senior photoshoot is your favorite park in Downtown Chicago, but when everyone arrives for the photoshoot, the park is closed or occupied by other humans.  Now What?  Plan B?  Always have a Plan B = Backup Location.  When shooting senior photos on-location, you have to be ready for other challenges than just weather.

Include a Professional Hair & Makeup Artist

Your photographer works with some of the best hair & makeup artists as they know the difference between looking good and looking great in your senior photos comes down to the details.  Ask/Request your photographer to include a hair & makeup artist for your photoshoot & keep the along for the ride as touch-ups throughout the photoshoot will make you look & feel amazing.

Hire a Director (also known as a photographer)

The photographer you choose for your senior photos shall have an understanding on directing.  Humans do not always look their best from all angles.  Your photographer is above all, a director.  As a director, photographers work with You on poses, angles and compositions.  The number one goal is to make YOU look amazing.

Have Fun.  Be You.

This should be the easiest part, but often overlooked.  Senior photos are about YOU.  Do What You Love.  Be Fashionable.  Be Vibrant.  Have Fun and Be YOU!
